Details of the redeployment of the outgoing Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Thabo Manyoni, still remain sketchy.
Manyoni will soon vacate his mayoral position for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) MEC, Olly Mlamleli.
ANC spokesperson in the Free State, Thabo Meeko, says they still need to discuss the redeployment.
Meeko explains that Manyoni, who is also the ANC’s provincial Deputy Chairperson, will possibly be redeployed in a position that is best suited for his political accolades.
“Comrade Thabo Manyoni continues to be a disciplined member of the ANC with a huge capacity in terms of government. He has been a municipal manager, mayor, MEC and the National Chairperson of Salga. We have no doubt that the ANC will certainly deploy him where his capacity dictates, so that he can continue to serve our people and assist the ANC to implement its programme.”
