The running of resorts in the Free State and the sustainability thereof by the provincial government has come into question.
This, as opposition parties in the Free State Legislature, demands answers regarding the state of the Jim Fouche Holiday Resort and Philip Sanders Holiday Resort.
DA leader, Roy Jankielsohn, says the state of resorts in the province is appealing and compromises the tourism industry and job creation opportunities in the province. This as the Fouche Holiday Resort remains closed whilst million allocated for the refurbishment thereof remain unaccounted for.
Jankielsohn demanded that the provincial government reviews the running of these resorts and acknowledge that they are failing dismally. He further told the House that the Free State Government should re-open resorts that are closed and make sure that they are viable, otherwise leave the running of holiday resorts to the private sector.
