It is a shame that Free State Premier Ace Magashule had such limited choices when he was faced with appointing a new MEC to his provincial cabinet.
This is according to Freedom Front Plus MPL in the Free State Wouter Wessels. Wessels says the ANC’s rigid quota system limited Magashule to appointing a woman, while he could have more suitable choices amongst male ANC members of the legislature.
Wessels was reacting to Magashule’s cabinet reshuffling which saw the shifting of MEC Sam Mashinini to the department of Small Business Development, Tourism and Economic and Environmental Affairs, the reappointment of Mosebenzi Zwane as the MEC of Agriculture and Dorah Coetzee as the MEC of Public Works and Infrastructure.
DA MPL Roy Jankielsohn says they are concerned that Coetzee lacks the necessary skills and finesse.
