OFM manager appointed CEO of Central Media Group

Central Media Group (CMG) has appointed Nick Efstathiou, current head of OFM, as its new Chief Executive Officer. This comes after Gary Stroebel announced in November last year that he would be exiting his position as CEO at the Bloemfontein-based company.
Efstathiou began his career at OFM in 2001 as a Morning Show producer as well as Marketing and Events Coordinator. He then took over as Marketing Manager before he was appointed as Group Marketing Manager of CMG in 2011.
This gave him more scope within the company as he was responsible for the implementation and management of marketing strategies for OFM and other companies within the group, such as Mahareng Publishing, Redstar Agency and Digital Platforms.
In 2012 Efastathiou became General Manager of OFM and under his leadership the popular radio station has achieved the highest instances of time spent listening (TSL) in South African commercial radio, a Grand Prix Loerie and thirteen nominations at the Liberty SA Radio Awards 2018, with two outright wins. “We have incredible talent in this organisation. Through our people we will deliver value back to our audiences, shareholders and holding company,” he stated.
According to Dave Tiltmann, CEO at African Media Entertainment Ltd, CMG’s holding company, Efstathiou’s appointment bears testimony to the talent within the company. “I am delighted to announce Neoclis Efstathiou’s appointment to the position of CEO at Central Media Group.
