The Executive Mayor of Mangaung Metro, Thabo Manyoni will officially open the Heidedal swimming pool in Ward 16, which recently underwent refurbishment.
Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality spokesperson Qondile Khedama says the renovations involved the revamping of the main pool and the baby pool.
He says this is following an assessment of recreational facilities in the city, the city saw it befitting that it speeds up the refurbishment of this facility which had become dysfunctional.
“The city believes that the facility will be significant in promoting swimming, and removing kids from the streets. Over and above all, this is to ensure that all the communities that never had recreational facilities are provided for by the municipality,” he says.
The Heidedal swimming pool will be officially opened on Wednesday morning at Heidedal Ward 16.
