After having “a very tough year”, 18-year-old Katleho Masheane turned her experience into a booming clothing brand business in hopes of inspiring others.
Her clothing brand, Not Forsaken, originated in November 2020 and was officially launched on December 2, 2020. According to her, she started the brand to encourage people spiritually as the year 2020 was a very hard year for almost everyone. “It was just a way of me reminding them that they are not forsaken and that there is still hope,” said Masheane.
Her line of products include bucket hats, T-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, golfers, golf dresses and bags.
She decided on the name as it has a deeper meaning to it. “My inspiration comes from one of the most successful businessmen, the founder of Bathu Shoes, whose brand is doing very well and in high demand,” said Masheane.
Masheane explained to Bloemfontein Courant how her journey gradually changed from a nightmare into something she can smile about. “It is not easy to make it in the business world, especially when you do not have a start-up and you have to hustle to make it a success.”
The young Masheane, who believes she is an entrepreneur, describes her special love and passion for business, saying her belief in doing what she does must be done with passion or not at all. She has faith in her brand and trusts it will grow and become a great success.
