Northern Cape woman arrested for allegedly killing boyfriend

Police in Sunrise, outside De Aar, have arrested a 39-year-old woman in connection with the murder of her boyfriend, the South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Northern Cape said on Sunday.

The body of a 42-year-old man was found lying along Moerbei Street at Kareeville in Sunrise around 1.30am on Saturday, Brigadier Mohale Ramatseba said.

The man was certified dead on the scene by emergency medical services personnel (EMS).

“Preliminary investigation fingered the 39-year-old woman, hence her arrest. The motive has not yet been established. The suspect is expected to appear before the De Aar Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 25 November 2019. Police investigations continue,” Ramatseba said.
