No rain predicted for rest of the week in Bloemfontein

The South African Weather Office in Bloemfontein says another band of heavy rain is expected this afternoon in the city and surrounding areas. Forecaster, Phemelo Moloabi, says the office is receiving a large number of calls from residents reporting flooding in town after rain was bucketing down earlier.

She says it is however localized flooding and the amount of rain measured in the city varied between 26.4 and 30 millilitres.

Moloabi says conditions are expected to clear by tomorrow and no rain is expected for the remainder of the week in central South Africa. However, rain is predicted for the eastern part of the North West province.
