Bloemfontein. – Only 15mm of rain has been recorded overnight at the Bram Fischer Airport last night, and no further rain is expected in the coming days.

According forecaster Michael Matebane at the Weather Service, a large band which stretched from as far north as Kuruman, Kimberley and through the Western Free State and is moving to the eastern part of the country, thus passing the province and no more rain is expected.

“At this point the band is in the north-eastern part, Kroonstad reaching the side of Bethlehem and up to Ottosdal in the North West and is moving into Gauteng as the day progresses,” says Matebane.

He added if one looks at the scattered rain the province had compared to the coming days, the province will not see any rain.

“If anything happens it will only be in the north-eastern Free State, Bethlehem, Vrede, Koppies and to the eastern half of the North West Province including Gauteng where they might see very small isolated afternoon showers and maybe thundershowers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.”
