The situation at Bloemfontein’s Southern Shopping Centre is back to normal after a bomb threat this morning. Police spokesperson Chaka Marope says the entire building was evacuated for approximately two hours while they swept the building
The Southern Centre in the Fichardtpark suburb received a threat about a bomb that was supposed to explode at 11am this morning.
Marope says the entire building had been evacuated shortly after somebody called the call centre of the Pick n Pay, informing them there is a bomb inside the building that will go off around 11am.
He says the police bomb squad, the K9 Unit and the Mangaung fire brigade were all present at the scene.
