No arrests yet in UFS student murder

No arrests have been made yet after first-year University of the Free State student, Sean Kroon, was shot and killed during an armed robbery in Universitas, Bloemfontein, on Saturday.

Police spokesperson, Chaka Marope, says they are investigating a case of robbery and murder.

He says they are still on the lookout for one suspect who allegedly fled with Kroon’s cell phone and laptop after shooting him in the chest and lower abdomen.

Marope says stolen material have neither been recovered and investigations continues. He urges anyone with information to come forward.

Meanwhile Kroon’s Mother, Joanne Kroon, told Courant that she is saddened by how her son has lost his life over a laptop and cell phone.

She said they are currently in Bloemfontein to pack up his belongings and make the necessary arrangements prior to his memorial service next week Saturday on their farm in the Eastern Cape.
