Next of kin wanted wanted after hit and run, suspect sought


A case of culpable homicide is currently under investigation. This after an unknown African male was involved in a hit-and-run, which took place on the road between Marseilles and Westminister in Ladybrand.

The incident took place on Sunday 17 January 2021 at around 06:00. Police are looking for the next of kin of the victim, who is a male estimated to be between 35 and 40 years old and 1.68 meters tall. The deceased was wearing a navy-blue jersey and blue jeans with a brown belt, a pair of blue sneakers and a wrist band which was found next to his body. According to a statement by the Office of the Provincial Commissioner in the Free State, a small grey bag with Plantronics written on it and a bag containing a black mask were also found at the scene.
