Newspaper seller robbed and killed


Duane Petrus – Four robbers shot and killed a businessman in front of his employees at a park opposite Naval Hill in Bloemfontein this afternoon.
The deceased was busy paying his workers’ salaries when the four gunmen arrived.
According to one of the employees, a newspaper seller, the deceased fought back, but one robber fired three shot killing him while he was sitting in his bakkie.
They then allegedly left the murder scene calmly on foot after taking the money and were picked up by a getaway car nearby.
The man reportedly was also waiting for his children, who attend school at Oranje High School opposite the park.
His corpse was still lying in the bakkie on the scene.
Police spokesperson, Annelie Wrensch, says no arrests have yet been made.
