Bloemfontein. – There is still no new information on the progress made by relief organisation, Gift of the Givers, as it continues to fight for the release of Pierre Korkie, captured by Al-Qaeda rebels in Yemen last year.
The organisation’s director, Imtiaz Sooliman, on Monday said he hoped to be able to provide information regarding the progress made in securing Korkie’s release in 48 hours. However this morning, Sooliman said they cannot provide the feedback they’d hope for.
"We are dependant on third parties which I cannot mention at this time, as there’s no concept of time and there’s nothing we can do. We are not directly involved, so unless they respond to what we had requested, we can’t do anything.
"I must admit it is far better than what it was, up till last week we had lost all communication, we had lost all contact and we didn’t have any information. If they do what they had promised it could be very significant," Sooliman said this morning.
