New leadership of the South African Local Government Association (Salga) will soon be elected across the country.
All provinces will elect Salga leaders from next week, starting with the Gauteng Province.
The leaders of Salga will be part of the new National Executive Committee. The national conference will be held towards the end of November and the beginning of December.
Speaking at a media briefing in Bloemfontein where Salga held an NEC meeting this afternoon, National Chairperson Thabo Manyoni, announced that he can safely say municipalities are ready to provide services.
“We are confident that Salga has played its role to date, in insuring that our municipalities are performing and performing a little bit better. The Auditor General’s reports and other reports are obviously attesting to that fact. We also hope that this trajectory will be sustained if it won’t be improved, as we move forward to the year 2022,” he says.
