Bloemfontein. – A new power plant outside Bloemfontein will go into operation in 2014, to help with electricity distribution into the national grid.
Eskom’s Planning Manager in the Central Region, Roshan Pillay, confirmed this to Courant.
"Very close to our doorstep next to the Krugersdrift Dam we are putting up 75 megawatt power plant and that will come online in 2014. In terms of the other types of renewable energy we have two concentrated solar plants which is in the Upington area and we have eight wind projects that will come online," Pillay added.
