New Community Police Forum name, launched

The community members of Sub Sector 9 Unit 25 in Putswastene, Thabong, have launched a new name for their Community Police Forum (CPF) and named it Enough CPF over the weekend.

The event took place at Mokgwabong Primary School. Enough CPF comprise of a Sub Sector Executive Committee under the chairmanship of Mohato Hlasoa.  They operate under the banner of the main Thabong CPF that is led by Serake Leeuw.

The banner of Enough CPF was unveiled in the packed Mokgwabong Primary School hall in the presence of Lieutenant Colonel Moleleki Matsabu, who represented management of Thabong SAPS, Serake Leeuw  from the Thabong CPF, Ward Councillor Mojalefa Chaka and Chris Khunyeli the Principal of Mokgwabong School.  According to Hlasoa the banner is their brand to show their commitment to fight crime in Sector 3, Unit 25.

“CPF is moving forward in this sub sector.  We want to ensure that this community is safe.  We will show our purpose and commitment by standing up against crime,” said Hlasoa.

Sector 3 Commander Captain Neo Mokhantso addressed the community members and outlined the successes achieved by this sub sector among sectors under his command.  He said they worked together with the committee in this sub sector and their community patroller performed excellent as they even effected community arrests in August this year.

In a statement, police said Chaka, Leeuw and Matsabu were offered a chance to speak to the community and in their speeches, they commended Enough CPF for their initiative and blessed its existence.

According to police spokesperson Malebo Khosana, the initiative was hailed as the best practice that should be copied by other sub sectors.  At the end of the event the executive committee presented gifts to the dignitaries.
