NEHAWU Free State Says:”Goals Are Dreams with Deadlines”

THANDI XABA

NEHAWU in Free State says Premier Ace Magashule should have been more specific and detailed in his State of the Province address last week in Qwaqwa. Spokesperson Sizwe Pamla says they require more action and less promises in dealing with challenges of poverty, inequality and unemployment.

“We feel his speech was lacking in detail. We needed more specifics and timeframes. Our position is we don’t want more promises and public declarations, instead we need more action on the ground,” says Pamla.

The union feels it needs courageous leadership and unity of stakeholders and it isn’t enough for the premier, to publicly acknowledge the provincial health sector yet take no measures to address the issues. “The national priorities have been identified and all we need now is bold and visionary leadership to roll out programmes that translate those promises into reality,” he says.
