The 2021 Nedbank Cup final between Chippa United and Tshakhuma FC will be hosted in Bloemfontein next month.

The Premier Soccer League has confirmed that the Toyota Stadium will be the venue for the final of the cup competition, which is the South African equivalent of England’s FA Cup.

On Saturday, Chippa advanced by beating Pretoria Callies 1-0, while TTM shocked the defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, by winning 6-5 on penalties.

The acting CEO of the Premier Soccer League, Mato Madlala, confirmed that the final will be contested in the City of Roses.

“We are pleased to announce the Free State Stadium (Toyota Stadium) as the venue for the 2021 edition of the Nedbank Cup.

“This season’s competition has already proven to be thrilling and entertaining so far and we expect much of the same in the final.

“We would like to thank our partners, Nedbank, for their continued support. We would also like to thank the different stakeholders for their participation and cooperation in this process. We have no doubt that this will be a successful event.”

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the final will be played behind closed doors.
