The Navalsig police are investigating a double murder case of an elderly couple in Noordhoek, Bloemfontein.
An elderly couple, aged 71 and 77 years old, were last seen on Sunday 8 October at around midday at their home in Noordhoek.
On Tuesday 10 October, a family friend contacted the 71-year-old female and 77-year-old male, but to no avail, and then decided to visit the couple’s home.
On arrival, the family friend noticed that all the gates were locked, he then decided to contact the police to further investigate the matter.
The police found the elderly male was found in a pool of dry blood next to the house door. The lifeless body of the female was then found inside the house.
The victims had multiple wounds on the head and body. It is suspected that a blunt object could have been used. A team of experts were called in to process the crime scene.
