This forms part of Operation Shanela in the Mangaung Metro. According to Lt.Col. Thabo Covane, on Monday 8 January, the team concentrated on prevention of drug trafficking in Bloemfontein Central Business District.

“A man was stopped and searched. He did not have his passport in his possession and the team took him to his residential place to check the documents.”

As the police conducted a search at the man’s residence, 105 Mandrax tablets were found, Chrystal Meth weighing 0.046 kilograms; Rock weighing at 0.008 kilograms and KHAT weighing at 0.026 kilograms were also found and seized.

Lt.Col. Covane added that the 30-year-old suspect was then arrested for possession and dealing in drugs.
