Speaking to OFM News outside Mokoena’s house in Fichardt Park, a suburb in Bloemfontein, police spokesperson in the province, Wendy Nkabi, said that no arrests have been made yet.
She states that the alleged suspects only took his vehicle and nothing else from his house. The vehicle was later recovered in Lourier Park, a neighbouring suburb, about 8 kilometers away.
Nkabi says Mokoena was killed with one shot to the head but would not provide further details.
She stated that the murder is reported to have taken place at around 21:35 last night and was furthermore very reluctant to confirm whether he was, in fact, shot execution-style or not.
Meanwhile, there has been speculation on the motive for his murder and Nkabi would not comment on these speculations, stating that this forms part of the investigations.
It remains unknown whether or not pathologists have arrived at the house yet to collect Mokoena’s body so that an autopsy can be performed on his body. This is a developing story.
