MMM launches electrification project

Mangaung Metro Executive Mayor Gregory Nthatisi is in Botshabelo on Tuesday morning 16 April 2024 to launch an electrification project in wards 32, 37 and 38.

This forms part of the Executive Mayor’s commitment to accelerate service delivery in the metro and ensure that residents have access to basic services.

“With the city’s energy entity, Centlec, we will be electrifying several settlements across the city. We would like to thank you for coming today as we launch the Mangaung Electrification Project,” said Nthatisi.

He said some of the challenges that the Centlec team is faced with is that they don’t electrify households that are not registered and don’t have addresses.

“After the electrification is done and we have switched on, we request that residents buy electricity. If you don’t have the means, then we encourage you to apply to be included in the metro’s indigent register, and you will get free basic services,” said Nthatisi.
