The Manguang Metro Municipality’s (MMM) Executive Mayor, Gregory Nthatisi, has launched a proactive effort to enhance cleanliness in Mangaung, deploying Presidential Employment Stimulus (PES) participants to the Brandwag area as part of the “Reclaiming the City” campaign.
MMM spokesperson Qondile Khedama affirmed Mayor Nthatisi’s commitment to fostering a cleaner environment. Accompanied by the Communications Team, PES participants were engaged in a threeday programme, focusing on public cleaning, waste removal, weed eradication, sidewalk cleaning, and drain unblocking.

Khedama said local businesses, such as Burning Spear Spur, are contributing to the cause by maintaining cleanliness around their premises, echoing Mayor Nthatisi’s call for collective responsibility.
This ongoing initiative aims to update residents on ground progress, highlighting the MMM’s dedication to service delivery. By promoting transparency and accountability, the metro seeks to build trust with constituents.
Concerning the flats in Brandwag, Khedama said there are pending administrative issues that must still be dealt with concerning those who are occupying the flats.
“This campaign will regularly update residents about work on the ground, as the city attends to service delivery matters,” said Khedama.
