The Mangaung Outdoor Advertising Unit has raised concerns regarding illegal advertising signs which have been erected across the municipality without following the proper processes.
According to the Mangaung Metro Municipality (MMM) spokesperson, Qondile Khedama, the advertising unit conducted a decluttering initiative across the city, removing unregulated structures and posters from municipal poles and billboards. “The importance of this initiative is to identify disturbing structures, particularly by the bridge on the N8 towards Botshabelo. Despite issuing notices, the municipality is now taking action to remove these structures,” he said.
Khedama revealed that the initiative is aimed at restoring order and maintaining public safety, ensuring posters and structures are placed in designated areas and lastly encouraging residents and business owners to comply with established by-laws and regulations.
