Partner of Mervyn Joel Smith Attorneys’ Bloemfontein branch, Ettiene Stone, walked into his office for the first time on 6 September 2004. Little did he know that the firm would grow from strength to strength and celebrate two decades in the making.
“I started with just one staff member and two files on my desk, we now have a staff complement of 10 members in Bloemfontein and also branches in Kimberley and Parkhurst, managed by myself and partner Richardt Scheffer. Throughout the 20 years, a lot of hard work, dedication, and experience was placed in building the firm. Looking back, I am proud of having accomplished great client relationships and honoured to be a part of the legal community,” Stone mentioned.
Being able to apply the law to a matter and in the process of doing so, delivering top-tier legal services, has always been a priority to the firm that specialises in conveyancing and commercial law. “We take pride in looking after our clients’ interests.”
The esteemed law firm has dealt with the 2008-2010 economic recession and came out successful. There were tough times, but we overcame them!” Stone mentioned.
Stone also mentioned that a lot has evolved and moved to things being more electronic and technologically advanced streamlining the legal process more, as it connects MJS Attorneys with SARS, local authorities and municipalities.
“In the future, we are looking forward to growing our firm, ensure stability and to promote our name as a well-established firm. None of this would be possible without our very friendly, reliable and competent team and I am grateful for their work,” Stone concluded.
