Police spokesperson, Martin Xuma, says a 36-year-old suspect was arrested at his house in Zone 2, Selosesha, after the body was discovered not far from her home in the same area. He is facing charges of kidnapping, rape, and murder.

The 36-year-old is expected to appear before the Local Magistrate’s Court next week. OFM News yesterday reported that the little girl’s clothes were found three streets away from her home soon after her disappearance. According to the mother’s child, Matshitso Chaka, her daughter Naledi was playing with her friends near her house at about 17:00 when she last saw her. She told the police that following Naledi’s disappearance, her friends told her that a certain man promised Naledi gifts or sweets if she walked with him.
