The investigation regarding the two missing boys from Bethlehem in the Fee State has revealed that the boys have allegedly drowned in the Liebenbergvlei River in Bohlokong, Bethlehem.
The search for the two boys resumed this morning to check if the boys have indeed drowned and to retrieve their bodies.
According to a statement by SAPS, the SAPS Diving Unit was mobilsed to resume with the search on Friday but due to the high level of water and heavy current, the search had to be called off, whilst arrangements were made to close the valves.
Bloemfontein Courant previously reported that a missing person’s case was being investigated after two 14-year-old school boys from LT Nhlabathi School in Bethlehem went missing at about 10:00 on Thursday.
According to a statement by SAPS, it is alleged that the missing boys were with another school boy of their same age and were walking together to the river next to the railway line not far from their homes to pick up herbs.
