Ministers to welcome 1000 youth to NARYSEC College in Thaba Nchu

The Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Thoko Didiza, together with the  Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, are expected to welcome 1000 National Rural Youth Services Corps (NARYSEC)’s youth for the implementation of the District Development Model (DDM) at the NARYSEC College in Thaba Nchu, Free State, on Monday 27 January 2020.

The NARYSEC programme, which is a flagship youth skills development programme, targets unemployed young people from the rural areas throughout the country, in hopes of making a meaningful contribution to government’s broader youth empowerment initiatives.

Since its launch in 2010, the programme has benefitted more than 11 000 young people from across the country. Training completed by some of the NARYSEC recruits include: Nature Conservation; Artisanry; Plumbing; Electrical Engineering; Office Administration; Building and Construction, among others.
