Mimosa Mall invites shoppers to experience handmade décor

This year Mimosa Mall’s Christmas decorations are really something to behold, this as the mall gave 13 local pre-primary and primary schools as well as home schooling learners the opportunity to get creative and decorate the shopping centre.

According to André Rossouw, marketing manager of Mimosa Mall, they received over 2 000 décor items from schools in the city. He said as ‘Your Mall’, Mimosa aspires to support the community. “This is a first for Mimosa Mall. Families have already started to visit the mall to see the art pieces by the little ones, taking photos and claiming their bragging rights on how beautiful the decorations look.”

Neelofar Issa, general manager of Mimosa Mall explained to the publication that, to establish Mimosa Mall as a destination beyond retail, which is diversified through experiences, is key. “We want to offer our shoppers something different every year, and nothing is more unique than local. We sent an invitation to more than 35 local pre-primary and primary schools. Within the first week we received feedback from the schools and they were eager and excited to roll this arts and crafts project to the learners.”

Issa said the installation of the more than 2 000 items took four days and the schools and the mall’s team are very proud of the outcome.

The schools that took part include Brandwag Primary School, Curro, St Andrew’s Primary School, Smiley Kids Brandwag, Smiley Kids Dan Pienaar, Smiley Kids Langenhoven Park, Universitas Primary (Tjokkies), Willem Postma Primary School, St Michael’s Primary School, Castle Bridge School, Sentraal Primary School, Bloemfontein Homeschoolers and Sand du Plessis Primary School. Mimosa Mall’s Santa will be in the main atrium from 3 December, offering photo opportunities to families.

“Mimosa Mall would like to wish all our shoppers a Merry Christmas. May the festive season be blessed with great memories and happy shopping.”
