A memorial walk from Bophelo House to the Central University of Technology in Bloemfontein for the late Free State MEC of Health, Fundiswa “Fezi” Ngubentombi, took place this morning. Ngubentombi and the driver of the car, Bena Christopher Motaung, were killed in an accident on the N1 outside Bloemfontein on Saturday, while a VIP protection member of the SAPS and her 13-year old daughter sustained serious injuries. It is believed that the driver lost control of the car, which hit the bridge at the Andries Pretories-offramp and burst into flames. The official memorial proceedings is scheduled to start at 14:00.
