A fire broke out at a well-established recycling building on Manion Road. Braam van Zyl of the Mangaung Fire and Rescue mentioned that a call was received at 02:00 on 30 August and a team from the Mangaung Fire and Rescue team was dispatched.
Van Zyl confirmed that the cause for the structural fire at the recycling building is still unknown and that no injuries or fatalities were sustained at the scene.

“It was a big fire, we had to activate the central and Ehrlich Park fire stations to fight the fire. While we were busy with this particular fire, another electrical fire took place in Pentagon Park but was extinguished on arrival,” Van Zyl mentioned.
In the same instance, Van Zyl further mentioned that there were multiple fires spread throughout Bloemfontein last night and earlier this morning.
Van Zyl also confirmed there was a fire at a popular nightclub in Westdene. Luckily no injuries were sustained but there were concerns about damages being done to the power box.

“The big fire at Manion Road has been brought under control and we have withdrawn most of our team members but there is still a team left to make sure that everything else is safe,” Van Zyl concluded.
