Man killed after buying airtime


Duane Petrus – Residents in Mangaung in Bloemfontein witnessed the murder of a man who was shot dead on Tuesday night after purchasing airtime at a local tuck shop.
Free State police spokesperson, Peter Kareli, says an unknown gunman opened fire on Moses Kgokotli while he was trying to load the airtime in Moshoeshoe Street.
Witnesses say the deceased tried to run to the back of the shop, but was followed by the suspect, who fired three more shots at him. Kareli says Kgokotli died on the scene, suffering four gunshot wounds, including one to the head.
No one saw the suspect leaving the scene.
The motive of the killing is unknown and only the man’s cellphone is missing. No arrest has yet been made.
