Bloemfontein. – The suspect accused of stabbing to death Bohlokong resident at the weekend, is still in the Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein, after he was assaulted by members of the community when he tried to flee the scene of the crime.
Police spokesperson Majang Skalkie said the suspect is under police guard at the hospital and the name of the deceased will be released as soon as his next of kin has been informed.
On Sunday at about 20:20 the police received a complaint with regard to a man who was stabbed in Bohlokong. On arrival they found a dead body of a man(22) lying on the ground covered with a towel.
The deceased sustained 17 stabbed wounds and his body was taken to Bethlehem State Mortuary. It is alleged that the deceased and the suspect had an argument with regard to the suspect ‘s stolen cellphone. A case of murder is registered for further investigation.
Suspect fled from the crime scene. At about 22:45 the police found the suspect aged 23 years and he was assaulted by the community members. He sustained serious injuries and he was taken to Dihlabeng Hospital for medical treatment and he was later transferred to Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein.
