Man burnt to death in Rocklands

It is estimated that the proportion of South Africans who never saw a police officer in uniform during the past twelve months increased by 6%.

A man believed to be in his twenties was set alight and killed by an angry mob yesterday afternoon in Rocklands, Bloemfontein.

Police spokesperson, Ikobeng Hlubi has confirmed the incident and stated that the police will release a statement regarding the matter later in the course of the day.

Circulating reports on social media allege that the man is a member of the Maroma gang and he robbed someone earlier on in the day. The community went after him, placing him in a tyre before setting him alight.

He was killed at an open field not too far from popular hangout spot, Molly’s Tavern.
