Free State police have arrested a 28-year-old man, posing as a vendor on High Street in Bethlehem, for dealing in dagga.
Police spokesperson Zweli Mohobeleli says vigilant members of the Bethlehem K9 Unit were surprised to see the suspect collecting money from buyers and supplying what was wrapped in paper and contained in money bags on Wednesday.
“Their investigation revealed that the suspect was selling these “goodies” from his stall. Dagga weighing 0, 39 kg was recovered and the suspect arrested.”
The suspect is expected to appear in the Bethlehem Magistrates`Court today for dealing in dagga.
Bethlehem Cluster Commander Maj General Jan Tsotetsi is happy that the circulation of drugs which were potentially destined for the youth of this town was nipped in the bud. “Drugs destroy lives. All efforts will be geared towards removing them from our streets so that the future can be preserved,” he said.
