A 29-year-old man appeared before the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court in connection with the alleged murder of his three-year-old niece, whose body was discovered on Sunday (26/10).
According to Free State police spokesperson Thabo Covane, the suspect made his first court appearance yesterday (28/10). Police reports indicate that the toddler was reported missing by her mother before her body was found in thick bushes near Glen Location following an intense search.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that Katleho Leeuw was sexually assaulted and murdered,” Covane added.
The suspect is expected back in court next week Tuesday (04/10).
