Makgoe congratulates teachers

Owen Kock

Bloemfontein. – Free State Education MEC Tate Makgoe congratulated the ten winners of the Free State leg of the National Teaching Awards in Bloemfontein.

Speaking at the awards ceremony on Friday night, Makgoe said he’s particularly proud of the fact that teachers from across the spectrum entered this year’s competition. He says the winners will now go on to represent the province at the national competition in January.

"Ex Model C teachers are competing, township school teachers are competing, everybody is competing about what they are doing for the children. I’m extremely proud of these teachers. I’m also proud of the fact that we have fought for maths and science to be included in the categories and that’s hat happened this year for the first time," Makgoe added.’
