“Believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable.” These are the words of the beautiful Kim Sauer (22), winner of the Face of Heidedal 2018 competition.”
The owner and founder of Face of Heidedal, Yolande Macalagh, chose six finalists who formed part of the casting of this competition. Together with Heidedal Fashion Week, a formal event was held on 20 and 21 April at Heide Primary School, where Sauer was announced as the winner.
Sauer is a BA Corporate and Marketing Communication student at the University of the Free State. She said: “From a very young age I have always had a passion for modelling. It is the way in which I express myself. It is an incredible platform for my confidence to grow, so that I can become the best version of myself. This opportunity was created for us as young people, so I decided I just can’t let the opportunity pass. Is the first ever Face of Heidedal competition and I am honoured to have been chosen as the winner. I believe that I can inspire other young ladies and men to go after their dreams and to do what they believe in, no matter how small or big it may seem.”
She added: “Nothing will ever be handed to you on a silver platter and if this can motivate just one lady to have the confidence to do what she loves, I have definitely made a change.”
Face of Heidedal was a great success and will definitely grow in the future. It is a great experience to build self-confidence and gaining exposure in the modelling industry. Many designers also had the opportunity to showcase their beautiful designs.
Sauer lives by the motto to always make yourself happy before making others happy. If you are happy, it will eventually rub off on the people around you.
