With her enormous love for the arts industry, founder and co-owner of Let’s Talent, Janice Christians, together with well-known Bloemfontein businesswoman Anri Powell, is exploring talent locally.
They are creating a platform where any person can come and express their passion for whatever talent they have. According to Powell, it is not about perfection of the talent but about the courage to get up there and show Bloemfontein what you have.
All age groups, acts and talent can participate in this amazing competition. Local industry specialists form the judging panel, so participants can be sure of having a fair and objective vote. Let’s Talent started out as something small with a big vision from both Christians and Powell and is taking the Free State by storm.
The event that was held on Saturday 13 April had contestants from Kimberley, Postmasburg and even Koffiefontein, which, according to Christians, once again just proved that the central region lacks a platform. “The talent that we saw on Saturday had the audience in tears and on their feet. We know there is more of that out there and we want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to come and showcase their talent,” Christians said.
The overall winner of the event was the 14-year-old learner from Jim Fouché High School, Lee-Ann Julyan. For updates and more about Let’s Talent, follow them on Facebook at Urban Talent Entertainment. – Pierce van Heerden
