The Lengau Testing Centre in Vista Park, Bloemfontein, will be open to the public today after a period of maintenance. According to Department of Police, Roads and Transport spokesperson, Hillary Mophethe, the centre is now fully operational.
“It gives us great pleasure to announce that the maintenance at Lengau Testing Centre has been completed; the area will be fully operational,” she said.
The Lengau Testing Centre has been closed because of a maintenance problem, which not only affected the workflow of employees but also became a hindrance in service delivery to both locals and the greater Free State public.
The testing centre in Thaba Nchu has, on the other hand, been closed due to maintenance issues. This means that residents will need to use other centres, including the one in Bloemfontein.
“The station will only be open as from 7 June 2019. The contractor is already on site to correct the issues at hand. The department has made means available to assist residents of Thaba Nchu by providing transportation to other stations,” explained Mophethe. These are centres in Botshabelo, Bloemfontein and Ladybrand.
The spokesperson expressed regret at the inconvenience caused to residents. “We apologise for any inconvenience caused as the results of renovations and convey our sincere thanks for your patience and support,” elaborated Mophethe. – Nomaqhawe Mtebele
