Vigo Gospel Award winner, Lebo Matumba, is not only singing her way to the top but has a goal to help those in need through her music. Born in Ficksburg in the Free State, Matumba’s sensational voice has reached places all over South Africa.
Matumba started singing at the age of thirteen and has always wanted to pursue a career in the gospel music industry. As she grew up, her exquisite voice became known to many and landed her roles in theatre productions such as The Jungle Book and the interesting theatre musical cast of Ica magu.
On 14 February 2020, Matumba hosted a fi rst-of-its-kind event called The Charity in Gospel Event in the city of Bloemfontein, together with Ashlira, Justice Moses and Pastor Kevin Dube from Heart of Worship Ministry. Matumba is aiming to turn the event into an annual event which will help people in need.
At the event, community members donated clothes, shoes and food, which were given to members of different communities. The gospel worship artist’s expertise has enabled her to share the stage with the likes of Thoko Nogabe, Tebello Sukwene, Malehloka “Maleh”, Victor Gideon, international gospel artist Vashawn Mitchel and many more. Matumba has also released her first live DVD in July 2019.
