A pipe leak on the main line between De Hoek and Uitkyk Reservoirs may cause water interruptions in various parts of Bloemfontein. According to Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality spokesperson, Qondile Khedama, the leak will take about 36 hours to repair.
“Residents of Mangaung Metro are hereby informed that the Bloemwater Operations and Maintenance team has discovered a pipe leak on the main line between De Hoek and Uitkyk Reservoirs. The leak must be repaired immediately to prevent the pipe from bursting,” explained Khedama.
The leak has been attended to by the municipality since Monday night, and is expected to be fixed on Wednesday evening. Khedama expressed that water tankers will be provided for in any affected area should the need arise
Residents of Bloemfontein are not the only ones who may be affect during this period as different parts of Dewetsdorp and Wepener may also experience water interruptions.
