Bloemfontein – After falling a split second short to unknown Sebastien Rousseau on day one of the South Africa Aquatic Championships, Olympic gold medallist Chad le Clos and Dylan Bosch qualified for this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Le Clos and Bosch were beaten by Rousseau during the heats of the 200m butterfly yesterday morning.
Le Clos flew to the gold in the final last nights in the blistering time of one minute, 54.56 seconds (1:54.56) over the 200m course with Bosch hot on his heels. In winning he recorded the fastest time in world this year over the distance.
Myles Brown also qualifying for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow by winning the 400 freestyle final in a time of 3 minutes, 49.05 seconds (3:49.05).
So far the only woman to have qualified for Glasgow is Karin Prinsloo.
Prinsloo won the women’s 200m freestyle in one minute, 58.43 seconds (1:58.43)
