The ITEC Knights are back in action this week when they face the Mpumalanga Rhinos in their third CSA 4-Day Series game.
The Knights are the form team in Division 2 after two big wins against the Limpopo Impalas in Bloemfontein and Northern Cape Heat in Kimberley, but they haven’t been in action since early November.
The Knights are fighting for promotion back up to Division 1, and so far it is all going according to plan.
The coach, JP Triegaardt, told OFM Sport that this will be a very important game.
“This week’s game is crucial, especially with it being away from home,” said Triegaardt.
“It is not easy playing about from home, especially when trying to get a win as well, but we are up for the challenge both physically and mentally.
“After the game against the Northern Cape Heat, we played a warm-up game against each other, just to keep the momentum and the flow going. I think that it was important for the guys to maintain their momentum.”
The in-form spinner, Dane Piedt, is not playing the third and final unofficial Test between South Africa ‘A’ and West Indies ‘A’ in Bloemfontein, and he will be a welcome addition to the Knights arsenal, this week if he gets played.
The Knights are also bolstered with return of the destructive batter, Jacques Snyman, and allrounder, Clayton Bosch, from injury.
Play in White River is scheduled to start on Thursday morning at 10:00.
