Karabelo Primary School table tennis winners honoured



Blomemfontein – The Free State u.12 table tennis players from Karabelo Primary School in Rocklands were presented with medals won at the 2014 National Junior and Senior Table Tennis Championship held at Tempe military base’s indoor sport centre from 6 to 11 July.

The event comprised the inter-regional and the open championship. In the inter-regional event (singles) finals, the Free State team walked away with a silver medal after losing to Western Province in the junior girls u.12 final, while the u.14 girls and the u.17 boys claimed bronze medals.

In the doubles finals, the Free State u.12 girls claimed silver medal against Western Province while the u.14 girls managed a bronze medal alongside Gauteng Central.

The Free State u.14 girls walked away with the bronze medal while the boys lost out to Umgungundlovu and Uthukela A, who also claimed the bronze.

In the Open Event (Singles), Free State u.12 girls claimed two bronze medals.

Free State Table Tennis also thanked the school for allowing the children to partake in such an historical tournament.
