Dealesville will host the return phase of the annual tournament, which aims to promote and improve sport in the rural areas. The first leg entailed netball and soccer, however, the second round promises more action, as volleyball and basketball have been included this time.
Kagisho was joined by three other schools – Kgololosego High School (Dealesville), Reamohetse High School (Botshabelo) and Ipetleng High (Petrusburg), and stole the show in soccer and netball, and they are aiming to dominate yet again.
“We’ve already started with our preparations, and we are looking good. It’s an away challenge, but we are hoping for the same performance,” said Morethebe Queen Modutoane, the sports director at the school.
“We have talented players in the team and would like them to go further one day, so it’s indeed an amazing opportunity for these pupils to grow and improve their game. We’re hoping that all schools come with their teams in all sporting codes, boys and girls,” he said.
“The main aim of this tournament is to develop sport in the township, so I was happy to see it happening. It attracts scouts to come and spot talent, which is what we want.”
