JP du Plessis to join Cheetahs

MORGAN PIEK

Bloemfontein – Former Stormers and Melbourne Rebels centre, JP du Plessis, will be joining the Toyota Cheetahs from French Top 14 club, Montpellier.

Du Plessis will fill the gap left by Johann Sadie, in midfield when he departs for Japan. The player is a powerful runner with a ball and can punch holes in any defence.

He also had a stint in Rugby League for the Sydney Roosters straight after school, before switching back to Union.

The Cheetahs meanwhile have named an unchanged match 23 to face the Lions for their final Super Rugby match of the season.

Saturday’s match at Ellis Park Stadium kicks off at 17:05.
