Water interruptions in northern Bloemfontein and the CBD may take 24 hours to rectify after Bloem Water started supplying raw water to Mockes Dam on Friday.
Various suburbs that have been affected will be supplied with water once reservoirs stabilise.
According to the Mangaung Metro Municipality spokesperson Qondile Khedama, Jojo tanks will be placed at three locations for residents to collect water.
“Filling of reservoirs may take approximately 24 hours,” he said.
“Bloem Water has released water from Rustfontein Dam to Mockes Dam. However, due to low river levels and the current heatwave, some areas in Bloemfontein north may experience water interruptions,” added Khedama.
Jojo tanks will be available at the Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerk in Albrecht Street, Dan Pienaar, near Heuwilsig Spar, and Baysvillage near the Shell Garage.
The following areas in Bloemfontein North may experience water interruptions:
2. Pentagon Park
5. Dan Pienaar
7. Some parts of the CBD
