As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) Bloemfontein, together with Bloem Show, will be hosting a Shades of Pink Fun Run/Walk on 14 October at the Bloem Show Grounds.
“This event is so much more than just a fun run/walk to raise funds for CANSA’s care and support services,” said Anita Snyders, National Sustainability Manager for CANSA. “The purpose of the event is to create awareness of breast cancer and encourage the public to live a balanced and active lifestyle to lower personal cancer risk while having fun,” she added.
Participants can enter individually or as teams and the route, which is approximately 5 km, offers individuals and teams the choice to run or walk at their own pace.
Events such as these ensure that CANSA can continue offering their specialised care and support for those affected by cancer and the funds generated help them promote cancer awareness, through their health campaigns and educate people about the importance of early detection of cancer through their community screenings at CANSA Care Centres across South Africa.
CANSA Bloemfontein invites corporate teams, families, friends and individuals to come have fun and celebrate life. Entries cost R50 per person to enter and will be open till the morning of 14 October. The event takes place from 07:00 to 09:00.
